MANHUA WONDERLANDS EDUCATION INITIATIVE: In partnership with the State Library of Queensland, Museum and Gallery Services Queensland, and Education Queensland’s the Learning Place, the scope of Manhua Wonderlands was extended through media art workshop conducted by curator Thea Baumann and artists Van Sowerwine and Luke Ilett in Brisbane throughout 2006. A series of regional media art workshops utilising the State Library of Queensland’s Mobile Multimedia Lab were coordinated in Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns during 2006 for young people and teachers to learn skills in gaming and animation. Utilising the Manhua Wonderlands workshops as a launch pad, the Learning Place has been instrumental in the development of unique online curriculum resources made accessible to teachers, museum, gallery, and library staff through the Curriculum Exchange Resource Centre as a conduit for providing media arts education opportunities to a state-wide audience. http://learningplace.eq.edu.au/cx/resources
